CyberColloids

The seahealth project – Dr Emer Shannon soon to be joining the Cybercolloids team

The aim of the SeaHealth project is to evaluate the potential of seaweed derived bioactives to be used as functional ingredients in food. Different species of seaweed from Australia and Ireland are being screened, specifically for activity that could be beneficial to the gut and metabolic health. SeaHealth is a collaborative effort between Teagasc & CyberColloids in Ireland and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia.
